Ceremony outfit
2023
I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University this past May. I felt drawn to creating an outfit for the commencement ceremony, as I often make my looks for events, as a final project and reflective farewell ritual.

I play with, modify, and reinforce the pants from my 2022 collection, Earth to bex, adding loops for keys and drawstring at the waistband, and intensifying drapes.

The Brown Dress
2022
One morning spent sitting in the light of the bathroom, fitting myself into a 'skin dress' that I would come to wear in different cities -- New York for roaming; Los Angeles for dancing; London; Madrid; and San Francisco, on my 22nd birthday.
During this era of creation I was drawn particularly to fitting the garment around the form, creating drapes organically around the model.

Since childhood, I have always had visions for clothes. My drawings of people would include exact details about accessories, hems, patterns, and materials. I remember making a choose-your-destiny sketchbook in sixth grade with different tops, bottoms, shoes, and accessories, for the player to select and the final look to be drawn with. I have always felt the urge to modify existing pieces of clothing as well; I remember drawing designs onto my jeans in elementary school during lessons.
Throughout high school, I customized and repurposed garments, and made my own prom dress. Through college, I often wore clothing I made; I'd make tops and dresses for events, sometimes being seized with a vision for an outfit a few hours before an event.
Here is a gallery of some garments I have created and worn around in the past few years.
